Can Diabetes cause Vaginal Dryness?
I am a 21 year old female with currently uncontrolled T1 Diabetes (recently diagnosed) and I am experiencing painful vaginal dryness that is so bad it burns when I urinate and so itchy that it is driving me insane. My blood sugars are running very high currently (300-450) and probably have been for a while now. Is it possible my Diabetes is causing this? What can I do to cure it besides controlling my blood sugars? I have tried Decitin (Sp?), various vaginal topical ointment and antibacterial cream to cure the cuts I have resulting from extreme dryness.
Certain medications, including some over-the-counter antihistamines, as well as life events such as pregnancy, lactation, menopause, aging or diseases such as diabetes, will inhibit lubrication.
